The visual and auditory systems work together in order to sort information coming into the system. Having the visual and auditory system functioning properly independently and cohesively is very important to complete complex tasks throughout the day and maintain focus. Difficulties with focus may be attributed to these systems not functioning properly as the auditory system needs to be able to block out noise in order to focus and complete tasks.
